Ernie Alvarez was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 9/12/1960. He attended Bay View High School and majored in Music Theory and Composition at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Ernie plays guitar as well as keyboards.
His musical influences include the Early Progressive influences of "Emerson, Lake and Palmer," the Early Punk of "Snakefinger" and the Techno filled "Kraftwerk." There is no genre he doesn't enjoy, except the whole Hair-Band sub-genre, and will gladly discuss his favorite song: Trilogy by E.L.P.
"There are a lot of shows to remember but my two most memorable are quitting King Solomon at the Up & Under after anoither band member unplugged me." He holds the Guiness record for getting all his equipment off stage in the length of the one next song - record time by any musician.
"The other truly memorable gig was sitting next to Bono of U2 at Merlin's in Madison and drinking beer before we opened for them. The more we drank the more I kept trying to figure a way out of stealing his lyrics notebook without getting caught! I never did.
